Meike Götz becomes new CEO
As of early 2025, Meike Götz has joined the management of nordmedia - Film and Media Company Lower Saxony/Bremen mbH. She succeeds Thomas Schäffer, who successfully established and led nordmedia since 2001.
Most recently, Meike Götz worked as an editor in the main department “TV Film, Series, Children” at Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR). From this role, she brings extensive expertise in the development, financing, and exploitation of film and television projects such as Polizeiruf 110 from Halle and the event series Oktoberfest 1900/1905. Through her project management of various cinema and debut films like Herbert and A Heavy Heart (German title: Mit der Faust in die Welt schlagen), she also became a key contact for cinema and emerging talent projects, building a broad national and international network.
Meike Götz started her career with a degree in film and television production at the Film University "Konrad Wolf". After that, she first worked as a junior producer at the UFA in Potsdam, before working as an independent producer and producer for various production companies. In her career, the films she supervised won, among other things, the German Television Award, the German Film Award in Gold and Silver, as well as a Student Academy Award. In 2024, she completed a further studies in the field of "European Film Business & Law" with an MBA. Meike Götz is currently a member of the award committee of the Central German Media Promotion.
