International Filmfestival Emden-Norderney coming up soon

nordmedia funded Festival in the Northwest of Germany (2nd to 9th of June 2010)

The International Filmfest Emden-Norderney which will take place from 2nd to 9th of June is one of Germany’s most nationally acclaimed and internationally recognised film festivals. With over 100 films on 7 screens it is primarily a major audience festival for its around 22,000 visitors. In addition, Emden is increasingly developing into a highly-regarded meeting place for numerous representatives of the German and North-West European film industry. The main focus of the programme is on current film productions from north-western Europe. Due to its extensive programme of new British and Irish films, the International Filmfest Emden-Norderney has also come to be regarded as a showcase for these productions in Germany.

nordmedia as a member of the North Sea Screen Partners Project (NSSP) will use this years Festival as an ideal presentation platform. On Thursday, 3rd of June nordmedia will invite producers and Festival guests to a small reception to introduce the NSSP-project. The aim is to promote the North Sea region as an unique filmlocation and upcoming media region.

Awards

Prizes (€ 31,500) will be awarded over the course of the Festival film competitions, with the audience deciding on the winners. The Screenplay Award (€ 17,000) will be decided on by a jury of experts cooperating with the Adolf Grimme Institute.
